Overview 1 - World's 1st Virtual Reality Satellite
almost 8 years ago – Thu, Apr 28, 2016 at 06:42:14 PM

Hello VRnauts,

We have some extremely exciting news to share with you! We've just raised $1,250,000 to build and launch the world's first virtual reality camera cube satellite!

Meet Overview 1.

Drag the above Overview 1 3D model around, and click on the annotations to learn more.

A CubeSat architecture will allow us to capture VR content constantly in a fully immersive space environment, and scales engineering wise to Moon and Mars exploration easily. It also allows you to see the beauty of space as if you were floating in low earth orbit (200 to 400 km).

Here is the most recent image taken with the Overview 1 camera system.

Timeline

Our updated timeline is to have the Overview 1 launched in early 2017. We will be transferring our ISS camera, data bus, and processing unit technology into the CubeSat architecture to minimize timeline delays. KickStarter hardware reward fulfilment is ahead of schedule, so please fill out the BackerKit surveys emailed out to you last week and today. This will allow you to update your shipping address and credit card information. We have reopened the pre-order campaign again for 30 days, so if you missed the KickStarter rewards there is still a chance to get cool stuff. We are doing this to get a better understanding of our target market (e.g Sweden has the 2nd most number of VRnauts) and to test our website. Just CLICK HERE to pre-order today.
